Delivered “Intent to Proceed Letter” today to Bank of Brenham. According to our banker, this is all we need to do for now, while Title Company and others get ready to do their thing. We are “good to go”!
Family
Neighbor Wants Privacy
OK, this is weird. We DID have a view of the small lake behind our property, on the adjoining acreage, but the neighbor put up a short (short in length) but tall fence to block our view. I think he and the developer have had some issues, s0, that kinda stinks, but it is what it is. This will be our view from the back porch.
Received Full Disclosure on Interim Financing
Received today a packet from Bank of Brenham with the full disclosure of our loan agreement for construction financing of our new home. Enclosed was a letter asking us to affirm that we wanted to continue with the loan process. The letter was called, appropriately, “Intent to Proceed”. Disclosure packet was dated March 10, 2017.
Contract Signed
This morning, I sent our banker the signed contract to begin the work on our house. The builder has already requested that his surveyor stake out the the pad site and shoot the grade. We’re making progress! After talking to several local builders, we opted to go with John Schneider of Evergreen Builders.
Construction Checking Account
Applied for Construction Account Checking Account – Builder will request draw, Bank will forward the money to this account, I will pay builder.
Construction Loan Approved
Gary called me late this morning to advise that the Construction Loan has been approved. I had provided Gary tax returns, W-2 copies, and Letter of Explanation for compensation distribution.
Loan Application for Construction Loan
Credit Report for Loan Application, filed Loan Application at Brenham Bank, Gary Crocker.
Crosswinds Neighbors
This will be the home of our neighbor to our right in our new development. We are at the end of our cul de sac. The crews building that home will soon be moving ‘next door’ to start our home. There will only be 5 homes total on our cul de sac, and about 18 homes total in the subdivision.
Engineering Drawings Ordered
Ordered Engineering Drawings of our House Plans for Crosswinds.
Soil Sample Report
Received our Soil Samples from the engineering firm that drilled them. Sending them to engineer for him to design our post-tension slab
Title Policy Issued
Stewart Title Guaranty Company issued Owner’s Policy of Title Insurance. This was a quick visit to the Title Company, as we were literally in the middle of final packing to drive to Ohio where my Dad was barely hanging onto life. We arrived to spend a little time with him on Saturday evening, and he passed peacefully Sunday Morning “during Church time”.
In consideration of payment for land and water/septic, policy commences December 5, 2016 AT 10:24 am.
Cash Warranty Deed for Crosswinds
Cash Warranty Deed – Dated December 2, 2016, Executed at closing, filed December 6, 2016
Buying Crosswinds Property
Commitment for Title Insurance by Carey Counsil Properties, Inc – Washington County Abstract, Stewart Title Guaranty Company.
Check for Land Purchase
Issued Check for Property and Water/Septic From Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union Account. We have our proceeds there from the sale of our home in Pinehurst. We were pleased that we actually made a little profit on the sale of the Pinehurst property.
Deposit / Escrow for Crosswinds Property
$1,000 from Chase Bank Account for escrow for purchase of Crosswinds Property.
Property Contract Signed
Purchase of Property agreement including 1.65 Acres of land and Septic and Water drilling / installation. Just heard on 3/15/2017 that “good water” was located at our neighbor’s home at a depth of 300 feet.
New Homestead?
We are seriously considering buying property and building our home in this neighborhood. It’s a new development North of Brenham, just outside the city limits, and we’re really liking “Lot 5” – the pie shaped lot on the right, at the end of the cul de sac. This is “Crosswinds Estates“, and was a hay pasture. Word is that they will be getting natural gas from Brenham, and fiber optic connectivity from AT&T.
